Fundamental Travel and Tourism Services (Course Code 29)
 
This course equips students with the basic knowledge and skills in the various areas of tourism industry, including tour escort, tour guide, etc. It also helps students to develop an awareness of the importance of quality customer service in the travel and tourism industry.
   
Course outline:
Introduction
Basic quality customer service
Basic knowledge of customs and culture
Introducing local visitor attractions
Understanding inbound tours
Types of travel agencies & services
Field study (ecological-friendly tour; heritage tour; Airport visit and local sightseeing tour)
 
Understanding basic travel geography
Understanding basic travel formality
Development and trend of travel and tourism industry
Factors affecting the growth of travel and tourism industry in Hong Kong

Prospect:
This course facilitates students to broaden their perspectives and to foster their problem-solving and communication skills in order for them to enhance their continued personal and professional development in travel and tourism industry.
 
Upon successful completion of the course, students can be admitted to the Associate Degree in Hospitality Management or the Foundation Programme of BTEC Higher National Diploma in Hospitality offered by CBCC.
