Logistics Fundamentals (Course Code 08)
 
This course provides students with the basic concepts of Logistics and Supply Chain Management through introducing the framework and environment in which the logistics industry operates. Internship opportunities and site visits to logistics centres and international corporations will be organized to expose students to operational practices in both Hong Kong and Mainland China.
   
Course outline:
Basic logistics management
Principles of supply chain management
Introduction to warehousing
Introduction to transport
Introduction to purchasing and supply
E-logistics development and its application
Field study (3 days in mainland China)
   
Features:
Emphasis on both theory and practice
Close network between Caritas Logistics Centre and employers in the logistics field
Visits to local and mainland logistics centres
   
Prospect:
Graduates of this course could take up employment and apprenticeship in the logistics industries in Hong Kong or neighbouring cities.
 
Upon successful completion of this course, students can continue their studies in the three-year Professional Diploma in Logistics and Supply Management offered by CCHES and one-year BSc (Hons) Degree Top-up Programme offered by the University of Huddersfield, UK.
